The Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles (PMSS CAPF & AR) is a scholarship program for the dependent wards and widows of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (ARs) personnel who have been martyred in the line of duty. The applicant must have passed the qualifying examination with minimum 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.
Number of Scholarships
A total of 2000 new scholarships are awarded each year, equally divided between boys and girls.
Amount of Scholarship
The amount of scholarship is as follows:
- Boys: ₹2,500 per month
- Girls: ₹3,000 per month
Duration of Scholarship
The scholarship is tenable for up to 5 years, depending upon the duration of the course pursued by the applicant.
How to Apply
The application form for the PMSS CAPF & AR scheme can be downloaded from the website of the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board, Ministry of Home Affairs. The completed application form, along with all required documents, must be submitted to the Welfare and Rehabilitation Board by the specified date.

The scholarship is renewed each year on the basis of the applicant’s performance in the previous year. To be eligible for renewal, the applicant must have passed the previous year’s examination with minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade.
